Actually, these come in pretty handy. Most of my regular gear (laptop, bag) has a small business card insert that I fill and when I lost my bag it was returned (including laptop, organiser and all the other requisites) within 2 days! Sometimes there IS good in people.
My business card is going to be out of date in a few months though, since I'll leave the board of my student association, so I'll need some more civilian cards... these will do fine!

You may also want to check out stuffback at http://www.stuffbak.com/stuffBakAdmin/ I have no connection with them other than when I got my PDA it came with a stuffback kit. I haven't lost it so I'm not sure it works as promised but as it comes with a little reward and is easy to return, it might get a better response rate than an address label. FWIW.
